Great detail! And I love the yellow of the beak poking out through the feathers. Was this through bars or mesh? I've recently figured out that you can disguise the OOF bars using an adjustment brush to increase the contrast in the washed out sections.

Thanks Tim, and yes, you are spot on, it was taken through mesh. The OOF bars do spoil it but I didn't know how to correct it. Now I do if I can work out how to do it.

Nice shot - the eyes are really sharp etc

Before reading the comments I was wondering what the OOF bits were - I should really have recognised that issue from plenty of my shots

Let me know how you get on! I could post some before, during, and after pics if that's any help.

Here is a link to an edited version where I have tried to follow Tim's advice.

I can highly recommend this site , you can purchase a Kx ebook for about £6, it explains the functions of the KX in great detailclicky

It is a perfect compliment to the user manual

Nice shot Jim. I prefer this one, the edited version has too strong contrast IMHO.

I tend to agree here actually. You've pretty much fixed the differing contrasts in the bar/mesh area and the rest of the photo, but now the entire photo is a bit too contrasty. Keep the fix, but afterward dial down the overall contrast a bit
