Splitted Valley

I took this pictures many years ago, about 1995 but I’m not sure of at this moment. Please see my previous upload in PUG (Jolly Joker Clouds).I have reworked that file...Hope you like this new work closer to that moment of light. In special way in previous upload appeared a strange square hole of light in left part of photo. A better managing of this feature in HDR solved this matter(deghosting). Camera PENTAX LX and Tamron Zoom 70-210 SP on 210mm. Manual exposure, tripod, skylight filter to avoid UV cast and as protection for lens. I took 3 different captures at F16 and shutter speed at 1/60-1/30-1/15. I have never been proud of results…so many years later I tried for a different solution. I matched those 3 files together in HDR PhotoMatix choosing for “FUSED” feature. I prefer this “look = result”rather than the one of previous piccies…but observers will judge it in a better way. I’m sure of. At moment of capture I was using that lens because several parachutes and paraglides were flying in air. Then disappeared flying higher…I decided for a few landscapes while waiting for “human-birds”back…It was late in the afternoon and several moving clouds were high in the sky. Suddenly light disappeared in front of me right in the direction of mountain…That mountain became a dark knive splitting plane into two different parts. Nice was to observe different quality of light in foreground (bright)and in far plane(warmer and darker as sun goes to sleep just beyond mountains in that direction). Nice was to look at that joke of Nature. I took my piccies. HDR has been able to give back this result, IMHO. By the way: Colour slide chrome KODAK EKTA 100 HC scanned in EPSON Perfection 3200.
