nice shot of the flower but the background got to much light and shows the texture of the - what is it - looks a bit like a black bed sheet. I guess - a slightly bigger distance between flower and background and it would be perfectly sharp. I work with a free-hand ring flash on such pictures - the range of these flöashes is so short, that you always have a nicely illuminated object and a black background

Thanks for the comments everyone. Axel,it was a black bed sheet although I did iron it first
I agree the gap was too small between the subject and backdrop, however it was my first try so hopefully next time I will improve. I will have to buy a bigger table
