Typically classy and professional stuff Axel. I quite admire Porsche, engineering-wise but I do wish they'd be more adventurous with their styling. Even BMW manage it sometimes: just look at my beautiful 1997 Z3! I can't tell one Porsche from another!
Hi Andrew - wow you really step on a risky thin ice surface - I am not at all patriotic in car brands but some here might - so let's see if this opens a design debate hehe... However, I think a remarkable fact with Porsche Design is, it is a very unique style. What you mean negative "you can't tell one Porsche from another" you can also turn into something positive as it means on the other side "Porsche established a special, unique and timeless design". This is a typical feature of strong brands - such as Apple.
I think what you say about lack of adventorous car design is kind of true for all big German brands. A limousine from Mercedes, Audi and BMW are all kind of "the same" - they only differ in tiny design elements but the basic shape is so much the same. Really creative are companies like Renault or Volkswagen - they designed and developped complete new car concepts such as the Van or Mini-Van, the Golf, Beetle or VW Bus. OMG - I might now be killed by other German members in this community by saying this about exclusive German cars

I didn't mean to criticise, Axel. Th Germans do produce some of the best and most desriable cars in the world... and the English have lost most of their once great car industry but I hope you take my point. Look at Aston Martin there are elements of, say the DB5 in the current cars, design motifs, but they are quite different. A 911 is, well just like any 911...

Hi Andrew - I didn't see this as criticising - just as a different taste (which is so normal with such a subjective thing like Design). And I fully understand your point - I also fully agree that Porsche repeats its design a lot (and if this is not once favorit design then automatically all models are kind of not nice). and hey - the Z3 is different (what I meant are these a bit boring notchbacks)
