Harbour Lights
by morpheus71
The harbour originally featured a medieval quay. The Victorian harbour, in its present shape, was built by Richard Lomax in 1833 and completed by JT Treffry, a mining entrepreneur.
Newquay Harbour was once linked to the railways, the stone block platform in the harbour is a remnant support from that era. A goods line which developed into the Newquay and Cornwall Junction Railway was opened in 1846 from inland clay mines to the harbour, worked by horses. The last trains ran through to Newquay Harbour in about 1924,
Spectacular image immediately putting the viewer in a Lilliputian state of mind with your POV choice. The glowing colors and the complimentary sky are pantone perfect. A Cecil B. Demille mind put together this technically impeccable image. Museum quality .....again.

Thank you very much indeed for your munificent comments It was a fine moment indeed from a high vantage point above the harbour. The clouds to the North & West, twilight tones, remnant afterglow behind me, mooring lines drawing the eye, the lone rowing boat, vibrant paintwork hues upon the vessels... A feast of colours, shapes and textures. Tranquil respite for these boats for a few hours, before they set out again on the choppy cold waters of the Atlantic once more.
