In it's day this was the 'large screen' TV !
Nuffield Place is a 'time capsule' as Lord Nuffield (William Morris) required that the house and contents should be left 'as is' when he bequeathed them to Nuffield College and now that the college has passed Nuffield Place to the National Trust that requirement has been honoured.
Well worth a visit.
And if you own a Morris, MG, Wolseley or other BMC car you can drive straight up to the main house and park there !

I have to admit that this is really a personal 'nostalgia trip' for me as I worked in a radio/tv shop before going to university in 1961 and can remember working on sets like these !
For you, David, I posted a genuine plastic cased radio today - I don't think this one was bakelite as newer plastics were available at this time ?
