Summer in the English Countryside

Is this a typical Summer Scene in England? Not for most of us, but there are many of these places if we know where to look. This is the village of Rievaulx, near to Rievaulx Abbey in North Yorkshire. The Abbey is stunning, but for me, the village is even more so.

Excellent shot David. I love the compo and it's timeless with no evidence of 21st Century factors to date it.

The rock wall on left would normally over-dominate the image but even in large the scene is tightly balanced and mellow - tg
