Rolling Chaffs

Photo Information
Best if viewed large.August 2007. Camera on monopod entax LX. Lens: Pentax zoom 40-80mm. Film: Kodak Elite Chrome 100 ISO. F: 11- 1/60 sec. Scanner: Epson Perfection 3200. Place: SS Cassia. Close to San Quirico d’Orcia. (Siena-Italia). This open-space and monotony of rolling chaffs attracted my attention. Warm-tones are due to sunlight of late afternoon. I set iso-speed at 125 ISO to underexposure the scene a little bit, so to have a deeper blu sky.Is it correct to write CHAFFS or should I write CHAFFES??

Wonderful almost surreal vivid colour in the sky and perfect contrast against the rolling wheat fields, and the track through the field leads the eye towards the little hillock, bravo

an amazing shot as said above - almost surreal. I even think that the contrast between sky and landscape is so hard, that it feels a bit like a combination of two shots. Might be that with a slight reduction of the sky saturation, it might look more natural. The scenray is captured in an amazing way - so harmonic, so reduced to one color, this is like a dream picture

Wow!It's amazing when viewed large The composition is superb - love the way the track wiggles it's way towards those hills. The uniformity of the bales are niclely juxtaposed with the soft shapes of the fluffy cumulus clouds

Love the vivid blue sky, the clouds and the rolls of hay. Almost surreal. Excellent!

Hope one day I would be able to photograph such a beautiful sky!! fantastic work Giulio. Never thought it is possible to capture such sky color without Circular Polarizer.

I think the composition is the stand out in this shot. I do love the tri colour effect, but the conposition is so well balanced. Bravo
