The Grand Canal from the Accademia Bridge at night

Just had a 4 day photography trip to Venice for the beginning of the carnival season and the city lends itself well for night photography. I wanted a different take on the classic shot and by luck, a police boat came through at the right moment. This gives that extra element to the scene I feel.

Well worth viewing in large. Delicate with overtones of melancholy. the long blue line leads the eye but the neon chartreuse lighting draws it back with authority. V. Special image - t

Thank you both, seeing it bigger does help see the detail in this. It was a case of being there and at right time too

I like this - I haven't seen many of this canal at night and works well with the added police boat lights
