Brickwork with a secret

This is part of a Victorian era building in New York. The brickwork makes attractive patterns but there is considerably more to this building than at first meets the eye. I have put a series on the Forum - 'your photos' - that illustrates the point.

Your post was extremely interesting. I got to say though, I find those massive bare brick buildings hugely depressing.
