Gateway to the Cholera Monument.

by trixie

This is the gateway to the Cholera Monument in Sheffield, dedicated to the people who lost their lives to cholera in the 1800s, down the side of the gateway there are engravings of water, taps dripping, childern and skulls, all things that are relevant to the outbreak, that killed so many, but it made Sheffield now a cleaner and greener place to live and work.

I just want to walk in through those gates, the sure sign of a good shot IMHO, well converted and nice additional PP.

You seemed to have captured the essence of the place revealed in the history.

I like the angle you used to record this. It looks good in black and white, more appropriate for this subject than colour.
