Ullswater Light in Black and White

A tricky one to shoot! This is a single shot, but a blended image using two different exposures of the same shot as layers in Photoshop and the relative opacities adjusted to try and represent what I was seeing when I took the shot, retaining as much dynamic range as possible. Once this was done, it was converted to black and white.

There's a colour version too, I might post if anyone's interested.

Gosh, that has worked well. A real sombre feeling - almost threatening.

You must have gone to a lot of trouble to create this. I have not yet tried using different layers in Photoshop.

Good picture and the PS approach worked well. This image doesn't have that odd contrast look that afflicts some HDR images.

Great shot David. Love how the sun rays are coming from above - makes it special.

A wonderfully gloomy image. How often the northern hills look like this. And the southern ones too, actually!
