A swan spreads its wings as it watches my daughter and her grandpa watching it struggling on the thin ice covering this pond in the nature reserve just outside Aberlady in East Lothian.

Picture tells a great story, lovely lighting, well caught.
Use Pentax K5,K5IIs, LENS Pentax 16-45, Sigma 70-200 2.8, Pentax 300DA F4, Sigma 105 2.8 macro. Flash Pentax AF-540FGZ, PENTAX battery grip.

just wish the swan was facing the other way! i made the choice to capture the sunny side rather than the shadow side though and was lucky enough to have the swan perform!
