Suits the colour pop, which is quite subtle anyway, the boys are the stars.

There's nothing wrong with colour popping, at times it can be a useful process. The problem is that often its done just for the sake of it and not because it adds anything to the picture. This is why a lot of people get irritated.
This photo benefits from the process because it effectively separates the subject matter from the background.
