Brooke: The Muse of Music - Ukulele 1

Photo Information
One in a series of shots I took of my talented musician, singer, songwriter, daughter-in-law, Brooke, who is currently learning to play the ukulele.

In the last photo I posted of her, titled Brooke Sings the Blues, she was a blonde and comments came in that she was a dead ringer for Kim Wilde.

Some were wondering what Brooke's singing voice sounds like. Below are a couple of youtube links where you can check her and her band out.

Lol...much better looking than George Formby, good one, Malc! I didn't shoot it with an album cover in mind, but thanks for thinking it fine enough to adorn a label cover!

Actually my motivation for shooting this portrait was because of the moss covered picnic table. It is located right outside my kitchen window and I would gaze upon it day in and day out while doing dishes thinking of how I needed to photograph someone or something on or near this table. Hence, when Brooke came over for Thanksgiving, I found her to be a spirited willing subject for a portrait. My plus is that she was dressed fantastically and she had brought her uke with her. BAMM....the shot components were complete!

I will be sharing a few others also. One in particular, probably the last one in a series of 4, you will think to be a drobbia (tony) inspired creation as it takes the pic to a creative artistic level. 😄
Cheers...Donna 😊

Excellent voice ....but how she's going to compete with that saxophone playing a ukulele I'm not too sure!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

David, Brooke does many genres of music. She sings with a band, by herself, and acustic w one or two others. At this point the uke is just for her own fun.

FYI...The girl sax player in the song Trouble is the daughter of the older man playing the sax in Superstition. 😊

- the group was above adequate and the sound is, as in most youtube live amateur efforts OK at best - But, "She got the music in her" obviously. Hope she continues on this musical note. -
The image is pleasant as is the pose. The fill lighting was nicely executed. Although she appears a tad chilled, her smile and demeanor generates a warm countenance. A album cover consideration for sure. Hard working talented family to have there Donna !!
looking forward to the series -- T

Stu, Brooke said that's fine with her sharing the links with your radio mate. As Tony said, youtube audio is not the best of quality, but at least it gives you an idea of her sound and capabilities. 😊
Cheers...Donna 😊

Thanks Tony! Brooke is a keeper! My son done good!

Very perceptive in observing her chilliness as it was quite cold that day, and her fingers were freezing up, but she was a trooper and let me continue shooting. Sorry about the poor sound, but it was the best available links for quick posting here. And yes, the girls got digs! 😊
Cheers...Donna 😊
