It might be the first patch of heather but the rest of the picture has a lot of interest too , I like the contrast between dark and light, I find it full of atmosphere and definitely needs to be viewed large.

Good colour and light/darkness contrast between fore and background. Master use of a compact!!!

I was told that the heather was late flowering in Yorkshire, is that the same in the south-west? It's beautifully bright!

Great colours and composition. I like a lot your hyper-focal shots like this one, every dots in it are pin sharp.
