Thanks so much for the encouraging comments – the bridge was full of the bucolic charm of a bygone era and well worth the trek deep into the woods to get there, in these last days of autumn.
I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the need to discover such places for my own musings – Hisley Bridge is a wonderful place to just spend time gazing whistfully into the waters beneath and being transported back to the halcyonic days of old…. How delightful it is that such things haven’t been torn from the pages of history.
