To the Binns

by PeterMac

The tower on top of the hill belongs to the House of the Binns. It's a local landmark and i pass it every day going to and from work. This year the farm planted rape seed and for the past week or so, the flowers have been blooming this wonderful bright yellow. For days i've been driving past thinking about how i can get to the field... last night i took the trip and the long slug through the field. When i left, i took with me a freshly died yellow pair of jeans and this shot amongst others!

There were a few stormy clouds moving through in the late evening and the sun was out a few times inbetween.

Nice shot!

Doesn't the farmer mind you tramping through his rapeseed field? They get quite grumpy around here

he he... dunno. I was taking my life into my own hands!

i took another few shots on the way home that i'll process when i have time, but when i stopped at one field, one then two, then three, then about 40 cows all came running over the field towards me... maybe the farmer had sent them to scare me off!

rapeseed is like ink though and i've learned a valuable lesson. If you're going to go trampling through a rapeseed field, wear some old clothes that you don't mind getting YELLOW!
