Into The Valley

by davidstorm

I've been listening tonight to one of my favourite Bands, Big Country, and the title of this image sprung to my mind, as it was a song by the Skids, Stuart Adamson's band before he formed Big Country. Anyway, the valley in question is Borrowdale, in the English Lake District, on a typically wet day. On this one I haven't attempted to clone out the water drops on the filter as I think they are an integral part of the atmosphere.

Beautifully captured, David. The colors are rich and vivid without being overworked.

This is quite powerful

You captured it great. the more I look the more things I find

I especially love the 3 little creeks in the background and the one furter in front feeding the river.

Well done

Very powerful. I really like the way the main river leads your eye into the 3 x streams flowing down the mountain. I bet your waterproofs got a good testing just after this shot !

Very atmospheric - love the three little streams running down into the valley off the knoll. Hope the lens is water resistant!

Hi Phil, thanks for the comment, the lens isn't water resistant, I had to be careful and keep it covered up unless actually taking a pic. Usually, even non WR lenses are OK as long as they don't get soaked.

Hi John, I'm not sure which crag it is, the location is just down from Stockley Bridge, towards Seathwaite.

Ah right, that would make it Seathwaite Fell and Grain's Gill the stream in the foreground.

Hi Maria, there's some in the upper left just below the line where the clouds meet the land, but they're not too bad!

Thank you for your kind comment.
