I'll give you colour when the picture is better for it. Today the light was awful and this looked really washed out in colour when I stepped up the brightness. Saturation and contrast just didn't help as the figures were almost silhouette.

OK I know the problems you must have had it's just me I'm not a fan of B/W
but I did like the photo and I would have liked to see it in colour.

Jack.

David, you shoot some great photos, but I hate to say this one doesn't work for me, sorry. (I'm always wondering how to critique in the gallery.)

My eye is drawn to the central pane with the big "X" in it, but there's nothing really there.

The graphic nature of the shot is such a strong concept tho, and the window-washers as subject matter is interesting.

And I think b&w is perfect for this.

Compositonially you're quite right Emily. But I couldn't arrange the window cleaners and get them to pose. I suppose that's why I tagged it photo-journalism. After I shot just a few frames my memory card filled up. I was travelling light; one body, one lens and not even a spare battery or memory card. I'd already had a busy day before I got to the Sage.

PS I don't know why people don't do criticisms in The Gallery, there's no reason why that should be exclusive to the Forum. In The Gallery we tend to say we like a picture but often not why we like it and don't offer advice for improvements.
PS I spelt Aerial incorrectly in the title.
