Spun Yarns

Photo Information
Today during a local walk we were passing the excellent 'Coldharbour Mill' site in Uffculme Mid-Devon, which is described by Historic England as "Probably one of the best-preserved textile mill complexes in the country". Its was rather a cold day so we just stopped for a hot drink and cake in their delightful cafe/shop. This is an image of some of the yarns still produced on site using all the original textile machines that were for sale. Below is a link to their website:

I think we saw this mill on Escape to the Country--- a program we watch every single day, and have for years and years. My wife is a native of Leeds who arrived on our Canadian shores in 1957. (Lucky me!)

Thanks guys!

Flan -Yes my wife does knit but manily for the children! And yes the colour chart idea fits in with what I was thinking.

GIULIO57 - Cheers!

go4IT - Yes Escape to the Country has been filmed around here, in fact our village has appeared in it and is only a few miles from the Mill! We have lots of relatives in Canada (from my Wife's side of the family), and have visited twice and enjoyed being there at lot.

Best regards
Mike
