Yes it looks cheap and plasticky off camera but superb in use.I wanted the 35mm LTD Macro version but doubt I would have gained much in practice. I put a cheap Kood silicone folding lens hood on mine (none with it)

Beautiful image, i have this lens, it's great for close up too, i managed to get a hood from Hong Kong for about £6.00

Thanks Maria, we are lucky to live in Derbyshire. Not many sea views though

Premier Ink for the lens hoods at £3.99 but their postage is high for small orders(shown as unbranded but turned out to be Kood) link
