The question of testing the FF lens on a crop frame camera has been addressed on the Forum. I am curious about TAv. How do you determine the exposure that will work since what you set is, by definition fixed? I would have approached this on Av to get precisely the amount of DoF I wanted and permit the shutter speed to float, having dialed in about +1.5 EV to account for the bright sky. What you did worked but I'm curious as to how you got there?

Many thanks for that question, David.
The simple answer is that I find TAv easier to use as it gives me control over both aperture and shutter speed.
As you rightly say the aperture will control the DoF but as there was a slight breeze I wanted to keep to a reasonably fast shutter speed as I was using the camera hand held.
I may be lazy but I have found that 1/250s at f/8 gives me that combination that works under the greatest range of conditions when I don't want to use a tripod.
As regards this image I did also use a bit of PP to lighten the shadows and enhance the vibrance, etc !

I hope this sounds sensible but I'm always open to being taught otherwise ?
