I was there yesterday on West. Must have passed you on the way up the hill as I generally head to the top fenceline.
I'm guessing from this shot you were about half way up?
Was a very good day for traffic too. 👍
Nice shot of the Tuc.

Rob thanks very much for your comment/like...much appreciated given that your images from the Mach Loop inspired me to visit in the first place.

Yes, it was a fantastic day up there yesterday. Both my son and myself were elated driving home...2 Tucanos, 3 Tornados, 5 Hawks...then there were the ones we missed. We had to leave the Hill to get back to Northwich for about 6pm in time for my son to go to a lecture on the F-35 with his Air Cadet unit...unfortunately we got delayed leaving as we ended up chatting to several very friendly enthusiasts on the way down...one admitedly told us an incoming was likely within a few minutes..the 3rd Tornado.

Anyway finally got in the car and had only gone a few hundred yards down the road before a Typhoon
flew towards us directly overhead...gutted...my son's favourite plane...was still a nice sight though. On the journey back between Dolgellau and Bala we saw another couple of Hawks and just as we got to Bala Lake a couple of C130s flew low over the lake towards the Mach...I was gutted about these!

It was only our second trip out there...went in Feb at half term and only got 2 planes in 4 hours...what a difference compared to today...will definitely be going again...probably late Jun/early Jul. We both got a handful of very good shots (by our standards) although my son's generally were better than mine...he used the K-S2 and 18-135...a sharper combination. Actually saw someone else at the mid-point using a Pentax with what looked like a 300mm in camo covering...you probably know him...i'll post a few photos of people from the hill later!

Giulio, many thanks for your 'Like'...much appreciated.

If he looked a little like Worzel Gummidge and under the weather it was probably me!!
I had finished that morning from working nights and headed to the dentist for some 4hr treatment!! 😣
Decided to head up as it was last flight of Valley 208sqn.
Decided to move on up as I found I was too low for what I wanted.
The camo lens you saw was the Pentax 150-450mm.
Feel free to drop me a pm on your next visit should you wish to meet up. 👍

Rob Lol...what a co-incidence...that older guy with the teenager stood about 10 yds behind you was myself and son! I almost went over for a chat when I saw you had Pentax gear as well. We decided to stay near the flag as it was far enough away with our more limited zooms.

Didn't realise the 150-450 could be so compact.

Thanks for the offer of contacting you nearer the next time...definitely will.

Cheers

Karlo
