Amstel Gold Race.

by pauljay

The Amstel Gold Race came to town this morning and this is probably one of the first photos published.
After about 43km this is the main bunch, already around 5mins behind the leading break.

Constructive criticism never hurts Jeff. However, I went out with the camera's settings pre-prepared which included the shutter speed set to 1/30th, so I knew what I wanted to get and, I got what I wanted. The construction within the frame was not quite what I had wanted but I had anticipated that and was expecting to have to crop - the riders passed within 3m of me at around 50km/hr so it was a one-off opportunity. The focus was just fine but at 1/30th I planned that nothing should appear static.
I viewed the photo on my iPhone this afternoon and, because of the phone size, it displayed a tight crop which looked rather nice I thought. Maybe I'll re-post.
I'm analyzing, and I hate analysis. I (quite) like the shot, you don't. Just like wine really!
You're right about the air traffic. It seems that my colleagues are beginning to talk to each other with all the spare time on their hands. That's new!
Paul.

Iam very sorry if I have upset you Paul but I was only giving me a Constructive criticism’s you said (Constructive criticism never hurts Jeff.) Well sounds like it did but I didn’t mean to upset you like this? I was only joking with you about the planes and you also said I Just like wine really! Your right I do reds the best you want to try it you might make you relax a bit and iam afraid you’re right again I don’t like it but I’m glad you do. But once again Paul you can’t keep everyone happy all the time can you and thanks for you response.
