Andrew, I feel that you've captured a visually interesting radiance of lines, enanating from a central point at approximately the left-hand third of the frame. A clever juxtaposition of light and shadow, rough edge and smooth step, vertical and horizontal. In short, a "nice shot".

Andrew I don't know how you do it,

see beauty within a cold stone structure as Sam said visually interesting radiance of line

The B&W conversion is excellent just the right amount of contrast how ever I think if you cloned out the light from the window it would improve it.

Thanks both. It was a quite impossible shot to manage contrast-wise. I'm always getting myself into these situations. The light from the window is really badly burnt out but I thought the odd glazing bar shadows just interesting enough to get away with!
Best wishes,

Andrew

G'day Andrew. It will come as no surprise to you that I also feel the blown area really detracts from the image. Without it this would be a great image with it's wonderful lines & texture.
Regards, Ian.

No argument from me about that Ian. It is a fully reshootable image and I'll have another go later in the summer.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Ok, I'll make a controversial comment here and say for me (humbly), the light in the steps draws me in, without it I'm not sure I'd feel the same atmosphere. Nice image indeed.

Katie
