Hi Karel - I didn't use layers or masks - simply 5 shots merged in Photomatix using 'Exposure Fusion' setting, and then a curves adjust, and slight colour shift of the overall image in PicWindow.

About the tripod - I got away with using it! I think they have lightened up on use. Also, i was quite near to the Thames wall, and not too near the actual offices.
