John you made it then!. I was a bit late getting there so went straight onto the station. Nice capture was this taken from the footbridge further up the line?.

Hi Cliff

We were late setting off for Rhyl so I drove round to Ritherup Lane but never managed to reach the spot I wanted to, so I just took my chances with whatever viewpoint I had. I'd have preferred to be on the other side of the tracks

That's an exceptionally sharp capture of a fine machine at speed.

Super pic,

A favourite engine of mine, John. Not that we get much LMS stuff down here! Nicely captured. I'd love to see it going past Conway Castle.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Nice one John. Do you sometimes have trouble getting the SDM to snap into focus quickly? I've started using my old FA 70-200mm zoom for trains moving at speed. Apart from giving me a longer reach than the DA*50-135mm zoom its much quicker focusing.

Hi Andrew, she's a lovely machine but I love the maroon livery of Princess Lizzy myself, going past Conway, yes that's a favourite place of mine. Do you get the LNER locos down there?

David I'll send a PM regarding SDM.

John
