Empty Platform

What do you do when you miss your connecting train and there's a wait till the next one?

Take some photographs, of course.

I quite like the harsh station lighting and the glare as it bounces off the floor and also the grainy effect of ISO1600 - it's a K10D remember!

Nice shot Peter. I like the lights and the repetitive shapes of the balusters. You caught it from a perfect angle.

B%W makes the atmosphere creepy, as is so often the case with old train stations.

Lovely, moody shot. Very gritty and atmospheric.
Best wishes,

Andrew

I like this too, and the grain adds to it I think.

Thank you gentlemen for your kind comments.

I am pleased that the shot evoked the adjectives used by Paul and Andrew, "creepy", "moody" and "atmospheric".

I deliberately chose the platform with no activity to gain a sense of desolation and emptiness. The only thing I would have liked to add would have been a touch of fog, but maybe that would have been over-the-top.

Regards
Peter
