Oger Church

by AxelLuther

I was impressed myself, when processing this photo back home, how green the lights are - actually, this church is very dark and has some greenish light in each section, but you are not aware how green it is . This is the dome of Mainz - another sample of a church in Germany, where you are immediately told, that you are not allowed to use your tripod (for not creating sellable high-quality pictures). Good for me, that this church had a stair at the rear and - so I could lay my camera on a step and shoot from there.

Great shot Axel, has your signature all over it. Where are the green lights coming from? Interesting that some are a bit yellower.

I think you have a slight bit of barrel distortion on this one, especially the pillars closest to the edges.

Hi Tim - there are actually lamps sitting in these bows with a spot-like illumination - they use these kind of mercury-gas-light or whatever that is, that appears like a very bright green - due to the overall slightly reduce brightness in this pic they kind of appear more green then white (actually I did not increase the green colors in this picture)
