Empty Shed

by richandfleur

Quite emotional to some degree. Helped my inlaws shift from their home of 30 years.
Never though I'd ever see this shed empty!
Busy period, with Palmerston North and Wanganui experiencing a months worth of rain in 1 day.

Not a good time to be moving house with roads closed, flooding, a state of emergency being declared etc, but we did it.
Shut the door on this shed and moved on to new memories.

Lovely shot... the windows act like spotlights on the empty bookcase... A beautifully told story...

Fantastic, the sort of image I really like and a great story to go with it.

Rich, this would have been a perfect opportunity for you to try an HDR shot! As it is the photo has atmosphere but generates intrigue about what sits within the darker areas which an HDR would have taken us into. However, you no doubt got the result you wanted but there are questions which will have to remain unanswered!

Ha, yes I did take bracket exposures, so I do have that opportunity.
This was the first output if you will from that session, and yes, it was deliberately left unanswered, knowing it would generate questions...

I hope it finds someone to fill it up again and love it. The image just oozes atmosphere

I think HDR would kill much effects related to the intrigue of dark spots; .. my attention is naturally called by few exiting lit spots; .. cause they also deliver things which help me to imagine what would be in the dark; .. that's not independent of my preference for LCL in photography

That was my vibe too Senn

I liked the lighting effect I was seeing.
HDR tends to show all detail at a common level, so would convey something completely different and would minimise the spot light effect the window lighting creates.

I'll give it a go though, but this piece will always stand on its own.
