I admire the shot and the technique, but I have to say that for me it's a bit to close, losing the perspective, sorry but that's me

Anyone looking at your image will be looking first and primarily at the eye of this cutie. Anything else IMO, is superfluous. Maybe this female is carrying her young in her eye?

I fully agree with you Malc, this is maybe a bit too 'extreme' for many people. My own feelings are that this type of macro is more suited to very small insects, as you can still get a 'compositional' shot with these and that's what I like to do best. However there's a certain fascination with seeing things like this so close, it most definitely has made me realise how complex insects are. Also, it's a real challenge to get shots like this, it's the hardest thing to do well that I've experienced in photography.

a bit too close for me too David, .. but I cant help being impressed by "deepness" of the detail; .. by the way, say more about "Home-made Softbox"

Yes I tend to agree with Malcolm. I love macro shots and I agree with you about seeing detail which we wouldn't normally see but for me a tad further away would be better.
Anyway, that's what we're here for to give constructive criticism to each other which can only help us all with our photography.
Best wishes

Incredible shots and a very interesting set up.
Nice to get so close - didn't realise you would be able to locate them at night, well done!
