Knot macro

Photo Information
Trying out a new macro set-up (a reversed 40mm telescope eyepiece mounted on the kit lens via a Ł13 T2 helicoid).
The knot in question is about 5mm across.
I'm going to have to find some smaller subjects to try it out on a more suitable camera lens especially if I go to the 5mm eyepiece...

It looks very much as though, about 6 years after it became a twig(?), this was subject to a fire, hance the blackening & the break in continuity of the growth-rings.

You can't beat a bit of wood, especially in a shot of this ingenuity & quality.

Keep them coming!

Coker.
The more I look, the more there is to see!
