Light is King and selects where it sits.

to have threadbare wind for a coat and a body
that has no eyes and no face to love,
bent in scarcely rooted supplication.
When have we not seen it praying

in its own loose unison of piety,
in its strength to waver and stay put and outreturn
the hulking one-time-only beachfront condos—
I’ll worship something that would return to all this.

Sand Theory

By William Olsen

Amazon Description:

The poems in Sand Theory, William Olsen's fifth collection to date, bristle with intellect, sensitivity, and ambition. Engaging poets from William Blake to Theodore Roethke, Olsen takes aim at grand questions of spirituality, the instability of meaning, and the individual's relationship with the natural world. Yet Olsen's lithe and sinuous poems wear their metaphysical concerns lightly, shifting easily between the immediate perceptions of a passing moment and observations offered as if from a great distance, outside of time and space. The energy of Olsen's poems is generated by his ability to meld the intellectual and the emotional, the abstract and the concrete, into a seamless whole while maintaining a sense of wit and playfulness. Sand Theory cements Olsen's standing as one of the most vital poets writing today, an audacious chronicler of "the supremely open moment."

Good picture, exudes a kind off romantic quality.

Gray -Came back a few times and each time I get a different feel and feeling. Watercolors, tint, mal-de-mer and religious flashbacks. Something a touch off center but worth the exploring. As Arnold said -Ahl be Baaaack.

Thanks for your thoughts. Brandt's "Top Withens (Wuthering Heights), Yorkshire Moors, 1945" is an inspiration for me. Romantic and mostly grassland. Maybe you see this element in this grass too.

"Something a touch off center but worth the exploring" Tony...

Off centre is good. Links to my self personality and quirks .
