Stellar shot that stands head and shoulders above the majority of images of this type: including my own efforts

The reflection in the rippled water is exquisite and must have required careful exposure and/or positioning to get right whilst maintaining such superb detail in the demoiselle.

Was this sheer happenstance or the result of careful planning and patience?

Thanks for your comments. The picture was taken on a day out to Brocadale Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve - so it was't planned other than knowing these damselflies were reasonable common there. The lens was the Pentax 300mm plus 1.4 Pentax adapter.
