'Spirit of Spring'

The Covid-19 outbreak means we aren't able to run any of our phototours and workshops this spring, and will miss out on the incredible bluebell woods of southern England. There's nothing more magical than dawn in a bluebell woods. This was taken last year on our way to a workshop in Cornwall. It was one of the most enchanting mornings imaginable, with deer dancing among the carpet of dew-drenched flowers and pheasants croaking as the sun rose through the mist. We had the place entirely to ourselves. This image is one of hundreds we took that morning. A vertical motion blur has been applied to the background in Photoshop. This gives a simulation of intentional camera movement whilst retaining the sharpness of the bluebells in the foreground.

Thanks, I've tried real ICM here by moving the camera whilst the shutter was open but wondered how the simulated effect might work. I think that the result was interesting despite giving an obvious artificial look. In the present lock down we are unlikely to be allowed to travel to these marvelous bluebell woods this Spring but hopefully we can look forward to next year.

Martin - I think that it's a technique/approach that works really well - I must experiment, but I don't think that I have anything that will work so well as this example.
