The IR technique gives this scene a wonderfully sharp and crystal effect. Love it!

Thank you all! IR can typically transform a landscape by drawing green vegetation white, blue skies black, and so on. What I did not know is how good B&W output a IR converted DSLR can produce, it is almost like using B&W film.

IR used to great effect. Did you use an in camera effect or an IR filter on the lens?

Thanks Stan! I use an IR converted camera. The camera was converted by Richard Gadd with an internally fitted 830nm filter.

Perhaps it is those odd colour/ tone conversions -- IR pictures always disconcert me, as if something dreadful had happened in the scene concerned.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
