Towers Trickery
These cooling towers could be seen in the distance, from home when I was growing up in Sheffield. I got a bit sentimental about them when I heard they were to be demolished in 2008.
I have never been much of a fan of Photoshop-type trickery. But, maybe I am relenting. This halo effect in Picasa seemed to suit the subject.
Hope you like it!

Not one of my most popular pics from the viewing stats, so I think I was pleasing myself with this one.

I have been too lazy to learn Elements 4 which I got free with a scanner, but saw this "halo" effect which I quickly applied in Picasa.
I do prefer untampered shots (unless I shot RAW and got the exposure wrong, in which case I can recover it).
My secondary school was on a hill which looked down in one direction to an industrial area where there was not much colour to be seen anyway. So I do like mono for industrial scenes.
As these towers are no more, I thought I would treat them to colour in "tower heaven"

It's difficult to get down to learning software, don't blame you!
