The Ottawa River Today, March 25, 2014

by Mac

Frozen river front.

Normally, I would be kayaking here on this date.
There is over 5 feet of ice in this bay.
Present temperature is -8 C.

Ooh very cold, but isn't that just a lovely picture, i'd rather see this than grey skies and limited light which we have today

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

Lee, the ice is over 4 feet thick. Cars and trucks are driving all over it.
I fear that the way this Spring is going, it won't melt until mid-May.

Oh, I wish!

This fellow has his own point of land out into the river and is obscenely wealthy.

I'm just obscene.

No consolation if I say we just haven't seen winter in this part of the world! Lovely shot Mac!

Very nice photograph. Snow is a lovely reminder of it's welcomeness in a photograph, and I wish we had had a sprinkling here in Wales this year. Seen on the distant hilltops isn't quite the same. I love your splitting and balance on this take.
