The Plaza - Oxford Street

by davesexton

I have deliberated many times over the Pentax Q/Q10/Q7 and always came to the conclusion that it was not as good as a DSLR and, therefore not a useful tool. How wrong was I?! Recent price drop and the need for a decent travel camera has seen me purchase a Q10. While the IQ isn’t up to DSLR standards (and never can be), I have used this camera more in a week than my DSLR in a month! You can take this anywhere and it provides the same control and photographer friendly handling you expect from a Pentax camera. I wish I had purchased earlier; this camera somehow brings the fun back into photography (and the IQ is far from poor!).

Thank you for your comments.

I was after blur with the figures in the image, but did not happen to have a tripod with me. So, the shot is 1/6th of a second hand held and I thought I was really pushing it. However, the Pentax SR system has done a cracking job and I think I might even have been able to push it to 1/4 of a second.

I carry the Q10 everywhere now; just wish I'd bought one sooner!
