Hutton-le-Hole.

by pauljay

I have to admit that the camera has not been too active of late - fresh out of ideas! Thus I took a trawl through some of last year's photos and realised that I had somewhat overlooked this one taken in the beautiful village of Hutton-le-Hole in Yorkshire. The car on the left is a distraction but cropping it out would also have removed some of those nicely painted railings.
Still prefer the color version!

Very quintessentially British i think and a great b/w conversion.

Nice shot Paul, you could clone the car out rather than cropping it and this would preserve the railings. I like the person walking in the centre top of the frame.

I like the composition and the nice tonal range. I particularly like that it looks slant because there aren't any horizontal lines in the picture but the vertical lines are OK.
I agree with David, you can easily clone out the distracting car in Aperture.
