wrong place, wrong time

I think this is a huntsman spider. It shot out like a rocket when this poor bumble bee landed nearby and It was all over in a flash. After subduing it, she dragged it off to where she had been hiding

Glad we don't have them here. It must be highly venomous to kill the bee many times its size. Where are you?

Slap in the middle of England. These are quite common garden spiders, always on the lookout and always lightning fast. To be fair, it is (was) one of the smaller bees, not the huge lumbering, bumbling ones.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
