Hibiscus in Rain

Photo Information
On a damp, dull and cool bank-holiday morning it is tempting to stay indoors. However I could see this Hibiscus in the garden which I could not resist going out in the rain to photograph.

This is the annual Hibiscus variant although we have managed to keep it a few years by bringing it in during the winter. Last year it looked a bit sorry for itself but this year I have been treating it with some tomato feed and it looks considerably better. The flowers appear frequently but only last for a day.

Pentax K-3 with a DA35 Limited Macro, hand-held.
1/20sec, F6.3 & ISO200.

Shot raw, processed in LR5 then resized in PSE10.

Excellent shot Glyn. Very sharp for a handheld and the colours are fantastic. I think it benefits from being covered in raindrops too.

All the above plus it's warming on a wet day. tg
