A1 Adoration

Photo Information
In March 2009, A1 Class steam loco No. 60163 'Tornado' visited Sheffield station. It was posed next to an 'East Midlands Trains' vehicle which coincidentally carries the same number and also the name 'Tornado' after the event in question.

Of course most people came to see the steam engine, not the modern diesel unit. As 'Tornado' got ready to leave, it captured a lot of attention from photographers & rail enthusiasts.

The inscription below the nameplate reads:

PEPPERCORN CLASS A1 No 60163 TORNADO
WAS NAMED BY
HRH THE PRINCE OF WALES
AND
THE DUCHESS OF CORNWALL
ON
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 19TH 2009

A very apt title Peter and a good composition for the take. Well taken, Good to know we can still do engineering, even if it is steam
Not everything in life is Black & White, If only it were!
