Lovely shot, especially the way the shadows complement the composition.

Unusual angle - works for me! A couple of the dogs are obviously aware of you - where were you standing if I may ask?

Two dogs did seem to be looking at me, but before I cut the file size to 700x552 pix I looked at the original image at 100% and their eyes are in fact looking somewhere else. I was standing on the pedestrian footbridge, waiting to photograph the incoming steam engine (the "Eric Treacey"). It is the footbridge that cast the curved shadow.

This particular journey, from Pickering to Whitby via Goathland etc, was delayed for a long time because of some serious incident at Levisham, next to the line. We all eventually got off in Goathland.
A few of my photographs in flickr.

Great angle, a different take on a street shot!
