Bittern in flight

Photo Information
A4 pacific 4464 Bittern on the Mid Hants Railway. I used my K5 for this shot as I find panning works better than with the K3 - I need to experiment more with the latter!

Well panned, the clarity of the Bittern is first class!

Lovely capture, Stephen.
The effect is just like a painting.

As someone who grew up next to the tracks in North London the Gresley A4 has ALWAYS been THE loco for me !
It is the epitome of the engineering design saying "If it looks right, it IS right !"

Bittern seems to be a bit of a Chameleon ?
When I travelled behind her on the Watercress Line she was in BR green livery ! The saddest sight that day was the journey back from Alton when she (ignominiously) had to pull us backwards !

Best regards
Peter

Always nice to see an A4 minus side valances!
