On Shed.

by pauljay

I was watching an item on BBC Breakfast this morning about the forthcoming gathering of A4s. Featured were aerial shots of an A4 (No. 7 - Sir Nigel Gresley)on the NYMR and brief comments were extracted from its driver, Roger Barker. I remembered that I photographed Roger at Grosmont last summer and, whilst searching for the photo, I noticed the interesting atmosphere of this shot on shed at Grosmont, with Roger propping up the locomotive. There was a lot of smoke and steam around at the time and thus trying to balance the extreme contrast was testing. I think I've come up with an acceptable compromise.
K-5/Tamron 28-300mm.

I think you have caught the atmosphere of the place just right. Love it.

This image works well Paul, smoke can be a nightmare with exposure.
