I tried my old artist's trick---stared for one full minute, very fixedly, without wavering, at a green portion, then closed my eyes and the complimentary colour appeared: exactly the colour of your pine twig. That's why this photo has such punch. (Besides the attractive shapes, the contrasts, the textures, and the composition.) Like a lot.
