Steam and Semaphores

Photo Information
Seen at the Great Central Railway Winter Gala yesterday, Ex BR No. 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' puts up a good display just south of Loughborough.

The GCR offers double track sections for a large part of it's mileage which gives the appearance of a main line with a more open aspect for photographic purposes.

My enjoyment of the gala was curtailed yesterday due to a vigorous thunderstorm just before 3 o'clock and the light never recovered afterwards.

The gala also runs today (Sunday 26th) but I imagine there will be fewer lineside photographers, looking at the weather forecast.

A nicely timed shot Peter, Sorry to hear your day ended on a damp note but it looks like you managed to get one or two good shots in.
Cliff.

Thank you Eddie & Cliff for looking in.

What can I say Cliff - half a day is better than none. The better locations suited afternoon sun but it wasn't to be. I shall have to try again at the 'Standards' event in February.
