For a locomotive of its size this is a very powerful machine indeed Cliff. Ideal for the gradients of the West Highland line it had a higher tractive effort than the V2s, A3s and even the A4s though it could never match them for speed. A very useful engine to use on the Settle and Carlisle Railway.
